Wythe County, Virginia, is seeking proposals for the installation of an Early Streamer Emission (ESE) lightning protection system at the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center (APEX) in Fort Chiswell, Virginia. APEX is a 90,000 square foot multi-venue exposition center.

The work to be performed includes all labor, material, equipment, and services for the complete installation of a lightning protection system consisting of the following: ESE lightning protection air terminal; complete mast, base, and supports; down conductors; and grounding terminations; and all other appurtenances applicable to the installation. The proposed ground system shall have no more than 10 ohms of resistance.

The successful provider will, in addition to installation services, provide the following deliverables:

• Shop drawings showing location of ESE air terminal(s), conductors, bonding connections, and grounding equipment (including sizes for conductors, ground electrodes, and connection/termination details). All shop drawings shall include a verifiable phone number and address of the installed ESE manufacturer or supplier.

• Detailed product data sheets showing application, dimensions, and material of each component utilized in the lightning protection system installation.

• Proof of provider’s approval or certification by the installed ESE system manufacturer.

Proposals will be received at the Wythe County Administration Offices, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 until 5:00 P.M. local prevailing time on August 10, 2018.
