INVITATION FOR BIDS – APEX PARKING AREA STONE PLACEMENT with Amendment #1

Wythe County, Virginia, is seeking bids for the delivery and placement of stone in parking areas at the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center (APEX), 290 Ready Mix Road. 

The work to be performed (the base bid) includes the delivery and placement of stone on the west parking area (approximately 5.0 acres/2400 tons). Stone is to be tailgate spread, approximately two (2) inches in depth. Bidders are requested to include a separate, additive bid item for compaction. The stone material will be either 21A or crusher run from the Salem Stone Wytheville quarry, approximately 2 miles from site, and will be purchased by the County.

until 2:00 PM local prevailing time August 16, 2018, and then publicly opened and read aloud at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers, same address.

Wythe County encourages the participation of MBE/WBE type firms.

Wythe County reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

INVITATION FOR BIDS – APEX PARKING AREA STONE PLACEMENT

Amendment #1

The IFB for the placement of stone in a 5-acre parking lot at the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center (APEX), 290 Ready Mix Road is amended as follows:

Strip and on-site stockpile top soil; fine grade for positive drainage; compact subgrade to prepare lot for stone placement; spread and compact approximately 5,500 tons of 21A stone (County provided).

Bidders will acknowledge Amendment #1 in their submittal. 

Bids will be received at the office of:

until 2:00 PM local prevailing time August 22, 2018, and then publicly opened and read aloud at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers, same address.
