Wythe County Parks and Recreation is now accepting applications for a full-time Recreation Assistant, Sports Coordinator. All candidates must possess a positive friendly demeanor, work well with the public and willing to work weekdays and weekends. Preference to have an Associate Degree or higher in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management or related field. Starting pay scale is $20,100 - $22,400 per year plus benefits.

Wythe County Treasurer’s Office

The Wythe County Treasurer is seeking qualified applicants for the full time position of Deputy Treasurer I / Receptionist.  Applicant should have knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment, accounting and money handling procedures.  Must have excellent computer skills and possess the ability to work well with the public.  Duties include but are not limited to accepting and processing various state and local payments; assisting the public; assisting attorneys, closing agencies and mortgage companies conducting tax searches; issuing animal licenses; maintaining various office records.  College degree or equivalent work related experience preferred. New River Regional Water Plant - Part-time Director PDF Print E-mail

The New River Regional Water Authority is accepting applications for a part-time Director for the New River Regional Water Plant. It is anticipated the position will be required to work up to 30 hours per week.

The Director shall perform a variety of skilled work as a supervisor over the water operators, operator trainees, and temporary workers, including procurement, developing budget and complying with approved budget. Responsible for directing an efficient, overall operation/maintenance of the plant and to maintain proper documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations.

It is a plus to possess a Class I or Class II Virginia Waterworks Operator Certification as issued by the Virginia State Board for Certification of Water or Wastewater Works or shall at least have a two-year degree in environmental science or civil engineering. Must have five (5) years experience related to operation, repair and maintenance of water treatment systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment and must have a minimum of five-years supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will acceptable.
