The magistrate's office is located in the Wythe County Judicial center at 245 South 4th Street. Parking for the judicial center is along 4th street with additional parking located at the old Wytheville Community Center. The Magistrate's entrance is near the Sally port (the roll-up garage door).

The Magistrates office hours vary, but access to magistrate services are available through the magistrate video 24/7 for both citizens and law-enforcement officers

The Wythe County Magistrate's Office provides judicial services for both the citizens and law-enforcement officers of Wythe County.  Magistrates are appointed by the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia.  Magistrate's responsibilities include: conducting probable cause hearings for criminal warrants, search warrants, and civil warrants.  Magistrates also conduct bail hearings to determine the release or commitment to jail.  Magistrates will also process these bonds and release those in custody.  Magistrates also have the authority to conduct hearings for: Emergency Custody Orders, Temporary Detention Orders and Emergency Protective Orders.  Magistrates can take pre-payments for certain traffic infractions and certain misdemeanor offenses.
