RFP - APEX Sound System PDF Print E-mail

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking proposals from professional audio services firms with direct experience and expertise working with multi-use indoor arenas. Example events that will be held at the arena include: concerts, rodeos, tractor pulls, arena sports events, trade shows, and other multi-faceted events. The successful offeror shall furnish all design, labor, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the installation of a sound system for the Appalachian Regional Exposition (APEX) Center.  APEX is a 90,000 SF facility which includes a 45,000 SF arena floor and bleacher seating for 2,500 patrons, expandable with arena floor seating. Click HERE for arena floor plan.

The scope of work is for a “public address” style sound system also capable of providing background music. The system may include, but is not limited to, wired microphones, wireless microphones, microphone mixers, speakers, amplifiers, sound control & monitoring systems.  Optionally, include the capability of extending the sound system with outdoor speakers so event participants, patrons & staff may hear announcements from inside the arena.  The offeror has the sole responsibility to: provide a professional acoustical analysis and plan; provide power and IT requirements to County; and provide all necessary labor and equipment to install and commission the sound system.  A minimum of three options is requested as part of the design.  The options can be tiered to provide successive system improvements within an overall design plan (i.e. minimal / recommended / deluxe). 

Interested firms or individuals are requested to submit the following:  two copies of qualifications and references; and, two copies of a proposed work schedule. Wythe County will evaluate proposals based upon qualifications, past performance on similar projects, the ability to demonstrate project delivery and the importance of the project to the firm.

REQUEST FOR BIDS PDF Print E-mail

Separate sealed Bids will be received for the installation of SCADA, water metering, at water control facilities at three locations around Fort Chiswell, Virginia. Installation will included all accessories and interior com-ponents, sitework, conduit, control wiring, electrical wiring, software programming, hardware installation, and underground piping.

until 2:00 PM local prevailing time July 12, 2018, and then publicly opened and read aloud at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers, same address.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

  • Wythe County Offices, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Peed & Bortz, LLC (540-394-3214) upon payment of $80 for each set. One-half of the deposit will be refunded to each document holder of record who returns a complete set of Bidding Documents in good condition within 10 days after opening of Bids.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference shall be held at 10:00 AM local prevailing time June 19, 2018 at the Wythe County Offices, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382

Withdrawal of Bids due to error shall be in accordance with Virginia Code Section 2.2-4330.B.1.

Should the apparent low Bid exceed available funds, the Owner reserves the right to negotiate with the apparent low bidder to obtain a contract price within available funds.

Bidders shall comply with Virginia Code Section 54.1-1112 regarding information required with Bid. Envelopes containing Bids shall be clearly marked with the Bidder’s contractor license number.

 
PUBLIC HEARING - Proposed Vacation of Right-of-Way PDF Print E-mail

In compliance with Section 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider adopting an ordinance for vacation of right-of-ways or streets entitled:

 “An Ordinance Discontinuing and Vacating
Public Right-of-Way Located Between
Lots 74-3-11 & 12 and 74-3-17, 18 & 18A near
Austinville Road in the 
Lead Mines Magisterial District,
Wythe County, Virginia”

The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the adoption of the proposed ordinance.

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 7:05 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

PUBLIC HEARING - SECONDARY SIX-YEAR PLAN PDF Print E-mail

The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, in accordance with Section 33.1-70.01 of the Code of Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 at 7:05 p.m. on June 12, 2018. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed Secondary Six-Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2018/19 through 2023/24 in Wythe County and on the Secondary System Construction Budget for Fiscal Year 2018/19.  Copies of the proposed Plan and Budget may be reviewed at the Wytheville Residency Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 2843 Chapman Road, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 or at the Wythe County offices located at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382. 

All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.

RFP - APEX TELEPHONE SYSTEM & TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES PDF Print E-mail

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking sealed proposals for a telephone system and telecommunications services that will serve the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center (APEX). Because of the close tie-in between telephone and internet services, Wythe County is additionally requesting proposals for internet connectivity for this facility.

Proposals will be received at the office of the Wythe County Administrator, 340 South Sixth Street Suite A, Wytheville VA 24382 until 2 PM, June 29, 2018. Proposals must be submitted to the attention of Ms. Martha Collins, Administrative Assistant and shall be clearly marked “APEX Telephone System Proposal”
