The Wythe County Treasurer is seeking qualified applicants for the full time position of Deputy Treasurer/Receptionist.  Applicant should have knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment, accounting and money handling practices and procedures; must possess excellent computer skills, problem solving skills, communication skills - verbal and written, the ability to work well with the public and coworkers, perform duties in a fast-paced environment, handle stressful situations, ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions and work independently without direct supervision. 

Duties include but are not limited to accepting and processing various state and local payments; assisting the public and resolving concerns; assisting attorneys, closing agencies and mortgage companies conducting tax searches; issuing animal licenses; maintaining various office records and preparing office documents for distribution.  College degree or equivalent work related experience preferred.  SALARY: $26,250 (non-negotiable).  Employment benefits include health insurance, retirement, annual and sick leave, and paid holidays.  Related employment tests may be administered during employment interview.  Upon acceptance of position, individual must submit to and pass a criminal background investigation and possess an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles driving record.
