VIRGINIA RETIREMENT SYSTEM

Employees are covered under the Virginia Retirement System (VRS). A group life insurance policy is also provided to full-time permanent employees through VRS. Employees may purchase additional life insurance coverage for the employee, spouse and children.

Plan 1 Member Handbook (You are in Plan 1 if your membership date is before July 1, 2010 and you were vested as of January 1, 2013.)

Plan 2 Member Handbook (You are in Plan 2 if your membership date is on or after July 1, 2010, or your membership date is before July 1, 2010 and you were not vested as of January 1, 2013.)

Hybrid Plan Handbook (You are in the Hybrid Plan if your membership date is on or after January 1, 2014, or you are a Plan 1 or 2 Member who opts in during the opt-in period of January 1-April 30, 2014)
