The Wythe County Board of Supervisors (“WCBOS”) is seeking consulting engineering firms who would provide professional engineering services for design of railroad crossing arms and signals at the intersection of Gator Lane and Kents Lane, and for construction administration and inspection services. Offerors shall provide qualification and experience of designed projects approved by Virginia Department of Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS).

The Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, Virginia will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance of a bond by Wythe County. The estimated maximum amount of the bond proposed to be issued is $1,352,415. The proposed use of the bond proceeds is to pay costs of capital improvements to the County’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities. The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, and at which persons may appear and present their views on the proposed bond issue, will be held at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, on November 13, 2024, before the Board in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, located at 340 South Sixth Street in Wytheville, Virginia.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors seeks bids from qualified installers to add climate control systems to two fire departments at Max Meadows and Speedwell.
At a minimum, proposers should include for each department a five-ton split system, Trane or similar, with variable speed air handler, with all duct, grilles, flex, electrical and filters to make a complete system to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning to office, meeting, kitchen and restroom spaces within the two fire stations. The Max Meadows station has an upstairs bunkroom and storage area to be included; Speedwell’s system will serve a single story.
Work shall include at a minimum: design of system; any required preparation work for installation, including concrete pad, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; installation of complete HVAC system with controls including programmable wi-fi enabled thermostat; necessary weather seals and insulation; repair, patching, painting of any damage.
Preference will be given to firms which can complete installation at both stations by January 17, 2025.

Work requires a building permit from the Wythe County Building Official, but the building permit fee will be waived. Bid bond is required equal to 5 percent of the proposed cost.
Proposals must include system design and equipment specifications; maximum electrical demand; pricing by station; references from three past projects of similar scope; proposed project schedule with starting date assuming Board of Supervisors approval on November 26 with notice to proceed on November 27.

Fort Chiswell South Sewer - Phase I Pump Station Installation
Wythe County, Virginia is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Fort Chiswell South Sewer - Phase I Pump Station Installation 22-25
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382, until 31 October 2024 at 2:00 local time (Reflects bid date revision, Addendum #3). A previously bid project (opened on 5 September 2024) included the pump station and linework in a combined project. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:
Construction of a pump station, gravel access and related appurtenances just south of Fort Chiswell, Virginia. Owner will provide pumps and generator for the work.
The Project has an expected duration of 210 days.

A pre-bid conference for the Project will not be held for this project. Bidders are encouraged to contact the engineer prior to October 17, 2024 to arrange a site visit if so desired.
