Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting bids for grass mowing on 43 different sites. All bid proposals are required to include the mowing outline (filled out with the bid price for each site per week, monthly cost, and annually based on 31 weeks), insurance certificate, and a list of equipment, e.g., mowers, trucks, trimmers, and edger’s. Furthermore, these documents are to be in a sealed envelope marked B&G Grass Mowing and to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. AREAS

Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bid proposals for the design & replacement of approximately 160 door locks and keyed cylinders and any necessary locks and hardware with a grand master key system in the Wythe County Circuit Court Building 225 South 4th Street & General District at 245 South 4th Street, Wytheville VA. All proposals should be marked “Circuit Court/ General District Locks” and to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Guidelines are as follows:

Contractor should provide pricing for all of the options listed below.

  • Provide a Grand Master Key system and door schedule for all doors.
  • Replace all key cylinders and any necessary hardware.
  • Furnish 24 Grand Master Keys, 24 Maters keys for each master key set & 12 Keys for each individual keyed door.
  • Furnish a Box of Key blanks.

General Notes

  • All demolition materials will be removed and disposed of by the contractor.
  • Contractor will supply all labor, tools, and material to complete the job.
  • Contractor will coordinate with the Wythe County Buildings and Grounds Department.
  • In addition to the proposed price the contractor will provide a certificate of insurance, a copy of their contractor license, a schedule of work start and completion time.
  • Payment in full will be made within 45 days of final inspection and submitted invoice.
  • Contractor is required to do a site visit to get a list of all materials needed.

Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bid proposals for the replacement of the carpet within the Wythe County General District Court Building, 245 South Fourth Street #205, Wytheville, VA.

A single hard copy of the proposal shall be sent to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA  24382 with the envelope clearly marked "General District Court Flooring". Electronic bids may be submitted at www.eva.virginia.gov

Contractor should provide for all of the options listed below:

  • Provide samples to the owner for selection of carpet colors.
  • Remove and dispose of the existing carpet.
  • Remove and glue, dirt, or debris from the concrete.
  • Repair any sub-flooring & use self-leveling compound where needed.
  • Provide materials and labor to install approximately 7500 square feet of Aladdin Mass Media Collection of 24x24 carpet tile. Provide at least one extra box of carpet squares.
  • Provide materials and labor to remove, reinstall & replace oak quarter round & 4" cove base & install any transition strips needed.

General Notes:

  • Work will need to be completed in stages as there will be a need to move furniture, fixtures and benches back and forth. Labor for moving furniture and fixtures will be supplied by the Contractor except computers will be moved by county staff.
  • All demolition materials will be removed and disposed of by the contractor.
  • Contractor will supply all labor, tools and materials to complete the job.
  • In addition to the proposed price, the contractor will provide a certificate of insurance, a copy of their contractor license, a schedule of work and completion time.
  • Payment in full will be made within 45 days of final inspection and submitted invoice.
  • Contractor is encouraged to do a site visit & responsible for verifying all measurements.
  • Work shall be completed the week of April 7-11, 2025.

Wythe County, Virginia is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

Barrett Mill Water Improvements

Bids for the Division I and Division III of the Project will be received at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA  24382, until February 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm local time.  Bids for the Division II of the Project will be received at the Wythe County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA  24382, until February 3, 2025 at 2:30 pm local time. Division I and Division III will be publicly opened and read at 2:00 pm.  Division II will be publicly opened and read at 2:30 pm.   Per Code of Virginia, Section 2.2-4303, A:  bids may be submitted electronically via www.eva.virginia.gov.  A single hard copy of the bid documents is required to be submitted prior to the noted time of receipt.   

The Project includes the following Work:

Construction of 35,000 lf of 4”, 6” and 8” water main  including a constant pressure booster station in the Barrett Mill Road area of Wythe County just south of Wytheville, Virginia.

Separate Bids will be received for the following Contracts:

Owner will announce the total construction budget prior to opening Division 1 and Division 3 bids. The Project has an expected duration of 365 days.

Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 9-5, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $400 for each set. Bidders and Non-Bidders who return full sets of the Bidding Documents in good condition within 10 days after receipt of Bids will receive a half refund.  Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to Peed & Bortz, LLC.

Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on 15 January 2025 at 10:00 am at Wythe County Offices, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA  24382. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.

Domestic Preference 

This project is subject to the American Iron and Steel (AIS) requirements under Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A – Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017)  and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies as AIS requirement to obligations made after May 5, 2017. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States.

The following waivers apply to this Contract: AIS National De Minimis Waiver

Should the apparent low bid exceed available funds, the Owner reserves the right to negotiate with the apparent lowest responsible, responsive bidder to obtain a contract price within available funds.

The Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, Virginia will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance of a bond by Wythe County.  The estimated maximum amount of the bond proposed to be issued is $1,352,415.  The proposed use of the bond proceeds is to pay costs of  capital improvements to the County’s wastewater collection and treatment facilities.   The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, and at which persons may appear and present their views on the proposed bond issue, will be held at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, on November 13, 2024, before the Board in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, located at 340 South Sixth Street in Wytheville, Virginia.
