WYTHE COUNTY, Va.-  The Drought Warning Advisory previously issued for Wythe County has been lifted.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has rescinded the advisory following recent rains, which have significantly alleviated drought conditions. According to the DEQ, streamflow levels across the county have returned to normal.

While the advisory has been lifted, some areas of Wythe County have received less precipitation than others. Residents are urged to remain cautious, especially when engaging in activities involving fire or outdoor burning. Please continue to exercise care to prevent any fire hazards.
