The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking proposals for engineering services to update its 1995 comprehensive water and wastewater study in Wythe County, Virginia.  The study will address, but not be limited to the following: 

  1. Evaluate existing water and wastewater systems conditions throughout the County.
  2. Evaluate future water and wastewater system needs and capacities based on population trends and economic development.
  3. Service alternatives for meeting identified needs for water supply and wastewater treatment.
  4. Address aging water and wastewater infrastructure and estimates for replacing.
  5. Address servicing areas with poor water quality or failed sewerage disposal systems.
  6. Recommend prioritized projects by rank and costs estimates for said projects.
  7. Updated hydraulic mapping and modeling as required.
  8. Update mapping of existing and proposed water and sewer service areas.
  9. Address financial funding sources.
  10. Address utility rate structures.

The successful offeror will work closely with the Water and Wastewater Director and County Engineer and will be the Engineer-of-Record for the project.  A previous study is available to use as a baseline for the project. 

Interested offerors are requested to provide five copies of qualifications and references on Standard Form (SF) 330.  

Proposals will be received at the office of Stephen D. Bear, Wythe County Administrator, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 until 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time Friday, March 27, 2020. 

All elements of this project will comply with the Virginia Department of Health, Viginia Department of Environmental Quality and US Department of Agriculture - Rural Development guidelines.
