The County of Wythe has determined that an appropriate use of CARES Act funds is to purchase turnout gear washer extractors and dryers to mitigate carcinogenic and pathogenic exposure to first responders. Wythe County therefore requests sealed bids from interested appliance dealers for the following:

Five (5) soft-mount washer-extractors, minimum 22-pound capacity. For purposes of this bid, “soft-mount” means that the bid units do not require any additional pad, mounting or brackets to secure them in place for use.

Five (5) gear dryer cabinets, minimum capacity of 2 sets of turnout gear/personal protective equipment. Specify typical drying time per cycle. Describe included hanging hear, racks and/or shelves, and specify whether unit may also be used for drying fire hose.

All units bid should include the capacity to use existing standard electrical and plumbing connections (Electric: 110/120V AC; plumbing – standard washing machine outlet pipe, drain, or under-sink connection preferred). Include description of any additional inclusions (ie, samples of cleaners, hose hangers, etc.).
