The Wythe County Planning Commission is currently in the process of updating Wythe County’s Comprehensive Plan. This plan is designed as a decision-making tool to help guide the growth and development of the county. It makes recommendations based upon the data gathered about land use, population, housing, community services, transportation and the economy. The recommendations made in this plan take into consideration present and probable future needs and seeks to promote the health, safety, morals, order, convenience, prosperity and general welfare of the people in Wythe County.
In an effort to determine the views of local citizens and gain valuable information to prepare the updated plan, the Planning Commission will be conducting a public hearing, in compliance with Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Building, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA.
A copy of the Comprehensive Plan is on file in the County Administrator’s Office for review or it can be viewed at this LINK.
