In compliance with Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider adopting an ordinance for vacation of right-of-ways or streets entitled: 

“An Ordinance Discontinuing and Vacating Lots 1-16 and the Interior Right-of-ways of the Twin Ridge West Subdivision located in the Lead Mines District of Wythe County, Virginia” 

The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the adoption of the proposed ordinance. 

The public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

The County of Wythe has determined that an appropriate use of CARES Act funds is to purchase turnout gear washer extractors and dryers to mitigate carcinogenic and pathogenic exposure to first responders. Wythe County therefore requests sealed bids from interested appliance dealers for the following:

Five (5) soft-mount washer-extractors, minimum 22-pound capacity. For purposes of this bid, “soft-mount” means that the bid units do not require any additional pad, mounting or brackets to secure them in place for use.

Five (5) gear dryer cabinets, minimum capacity of 2 sets of turnout gear/personal protective equipment. Specify typical drying time per cycle. Describe included hanging hear, racks and/or shelves, and specify whether unit may also be used for drying fire hose.

All units bid should include the capacity to use existing standard electrical and plumbing connections (Electric: 110/120V AC; plumbing – standard washing machine outlet pipe, drain, or under-sink connection preferred). Include description of any additional inclusions (ie, samples of cleaners, hose hangers, etc.).

The Wythe County Administration Office is soliciting formal proposals from qualified and experienced firms who can provide a fully supported, user-friendly, turnkey Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) Program to be used by the Wythe County Commissioner of the Revenue and contracted Mass Appraisal Firm.

Wythe County seeks proposals from qualified engineering firms, telecommunications providers and/or broadband consultants to complete a broadband deployment study. This study will determine current and future wired and wireless broadband availability needs and available service speeds throughout the County to ensure our citizens’ future economic competitiveness, educational and healthcare access, and commercial enterprise viability.

The selected vendor will complete a wired network speed and access analysis and fixed wireless and LTE network analysis to determine customer needs and help guide future deployment both of fiber backbone and last mile access.
