The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to hear public comment on the the proposed County Budget (which includes the School Board Budget) for Fiscal Year 2021-22 and on the proposed Tax Levy for Calendar Year 2021. The public hearing will be held in the Board Room of the Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia. The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking Bids for construction services for Lead Mines Rescue Squad Building at 1057 Fort Chiswell Road, Max Meadows VA 24360. The project consists of two phases.

Phase 1 is a Building Addition

Phase 2 is interior work on the existing building

Plans and bid form for both phases may be viewed HERE

Sealed Bids will be received until 2:00 pm on June 25, 2021 at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.

Bids shall be clearly marked “Lead Mines Rescue Squad Phase 1 and/or Phase 2” and marked to the attention of Martha Collins.

Wythe County encourages MBE/WBE type firms to submit proposals.

The County of Wythe reserves the right to reject any or all Bids.

In compliance with the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider an ordinance entitled, “Cigarette Tax Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia”. The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the proposed ordinance.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that STS Group AG, a leading global system supplier of interior and exterior parts for commercial vehicles, will invest $39 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Wythe County’s Progress Park. The new facility, operating as subsidiary STS Group North America, will supply Volvo Trucks in Pulaski County and other truck and automotive facilities throughout the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. markets. STS Group Comes to Wythe County

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 6:05 p.m. to hear public comment for potential conveyance of lots in Progress Park or on Chapman Road from any of the following tax parcels: 27-61, 27-59, 42-41, 43-26 and 27-59A. 

The hearing will take place in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.
