Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting bids for grass mowing on sixteen different sites. A full copy of the bid specifications including bid sheet and maps may be obtained at the this link:
MOWING SPECIFICATIONS
All bid proposals should include the mowing bid sheet (filled out with prices), contractor’s license, and insurance certificate. These documents should be in a sealed envelope marked B&G Grass Mowing and sent to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Bids should be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on June 5, 2020. All or some bids may be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors.
In compliance with the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to hear public comment regarding an ordinance entitled, “EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO EFFECTUATE TEMPORARY CHANGES IN CERTAIN DEADLINES AND TO MODIFY PUBLIC MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES TO ADDRESS CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH PANDEMIC DISASTER.”.
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

In compliance with Section 53.1-120 of the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider Amendment 2 to Ordinance No. 2002-2 entitled, “Courthouse Security Fee Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia”. The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the proposed amendment.
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

The Board of Supervisors will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. Due to the public health threat posed by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, current guidance by the Governor of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Health on social distancing and public gatherings, the public is encouraged to participate in the meeting via virtual means rather than in–person. Pursuant to Section 58.1-3007 of the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing. The purpose of the public hearing is to give the citizens of Wythe County an opportunity to comment on the proposed tax levy for Calendar Year 2020.
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in the Board Room of the Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter practical. Due to the public health threat posed by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, current guidance by the Governor of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Health on social distancing and public gatherings, the meeting will occur via electronic means or, if by physical attendance, the in-person gathering size shall be limited to ten (10) individuals, including board members and staff. The meeting will be streamed live via Internet and any Wythe County citizen wishing to speak may call 276-223-4504 prior to the meeting and provide their telephone number, and they will be called and allowed to provide comments via phone to the meeting in accordance with the Board of Supervisors Rules of Procedure. Any Wythe County citizen may also provide written comments prior to the meeting that will be entered into the official minutes of the Wythe County Board of Supervisors and summarized by the Chair or designee at the Board Meeting. The proposed use of such taxes, when and if appropriated by the Wythe County Board of Supervisors, shall be to defray the County's charges incidental to or arising from the execution of lawful authority of the Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, Virginia.
