The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 6 p.m. or as soon thereafter as practical in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Va., 24382.

The public hearing is open to comment on an ordinance establishing the Orion Drive Transportation Service District in the Fort Chiswell District. Four property owners have petitioned the county to create the Service District in order to establish approximately 0.15 miles of Orion Drive as a paved public secondary road.

The district would be created on an equal-share basis with each petitioner responsible for one-quarter of all annual costs related to construction, utility relocation and administrative costs of the district. Half of the construction cost would be paid by the Virginia Department of Transportation local assistance revenue sharing funds.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking proposals for an Architectural and Professional Engineering Services term contract. Awards may be made to more than one Offeror.  Contract term will be for one year and may be renewable for two additional one-year terms.  Project types under the contract include: preliminary engineering design and estimates (water, wastewater, maintenance and repair, minor construction), environmental assessments, studies, and other engineering-architectural type requirements which may arise from time-to-time.  Fair and reasonable prices as negotiated shall be used in determining the cost of each project performed. 

Interested firms or individuals are requested to submit three copies of qualifications and references on Standard Form (SF) 330. Proposals will be received at the office of Stephen D. Bear, Wythe County Administrator, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 until 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time Friday, January 27, 2023.

The Wythe-Bland Joint Public Service Authority will hold a special called meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Offices, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA  24382.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking BIDS for construction services for a renovation project at 440 West Franklin Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. The project will be demolition of the interior of the first floor.

Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2022 at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.
