The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Wythe County Board of Supervisors, in accordance with Section 33.2-331 of the Code of Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 at 6:00 p.m. on May 10, 2022. 

The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed Secondary Six-Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2022/23 through 2027/28 in Wythe County and on the Secondary System Construction Budget for Fiscal Year 2022/23. Copies of the proposed Plan and Budget may be reviewed at the Wytheville Residency Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 2843 Chapman Road, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 or at the Wythe County Offices located at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382.

All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.

The Joint Public Service Authority (JPSA) is seeking bids for construction services for remediation of concrete. The concrete floor of the Trash Transfer Station (JPSA) on Kents Lane will have to be cut, removed and replaced as per the attached plan sheet.

Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., April 29, 2022, at 169 Kents Lane, Wytheville, VA  24382, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.

Bids shall be marked "JPSA Concrete Work" and marked to the attention of Tim Frye.

The JPSA encourages MBE/WBE type firms to submit proposals.

The JPSA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to give the citizens served by the Wythe County public water system an opportunity to comment on a proposed rate change. In accordance with the Code of Virginia Section 15.2-2119, and subsequent revisions, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors proposes to change the rates charged for water services on July 1, 2022, as follows:

The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 6:05 p.m., or as soon as practicable thereafter, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 to hear public comment on the proposed water rate change.

Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting bids for the paving of two trash collection sites. The contractor will submit a sealed bid proposal that will cover the cost of tools, labor, materials, and equipment. All bids should be marked Collection Center Paving and delivered to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Bids should be received by Thursday, April 14, 2022 no later than 11:00 eastern standard time.

The specifications that will be required are as follows:

Contractors are encouraged to do site inspections.

Bids should be broken down for individual sites but will be awarded as a whole to the lowest capable bidder.
